North & South Carolina Regional Assignor Structure

We are excited to announce the exciting expansion of the UPSL in the Mid-Atlantic Conference!

Last year the UPSL Premier Division consisted of 12 teams. This season the UPSL will consist of 2 divisions and in total 25 Teams and two separate divisions. This marks a significant moment in the UPSL Mid-Atlantic as it has doubled the member organizations within the Mid-Atlantic conference. Additionally, the development of two divisions adds a promotion / relegation system within the two divisions to create a more competitive aspect within the league.

CRO is developing a multi-state system to create a way in which referees and assignors will have greater access to the UPSL matches in their area. This system was implemented beginning August 2023 and will continue in to 2024. This system has been developed to incorporate partnered assignors through North Carolina in conjunction with NCSRA as well as provide South Carolina Referees with more support through a partnership with Brian Marshall.

This will also ensure that more referees will have greater access to assessments and support from their area administration with the addition of a statewide system that is more closely knit together through the partnership and collaboration of assignors throughout the year. “Developing a way in which we can directly connect to assignors and work together to provide referees with opportunities and enhance the advancement pathway is foundational to our organization. The positive impact this has had already on referees at all levels has been incredible and we can not wait to connect to even more referees and assignors across the state.” Said Kevin Broadley, Executive Director of CRO.

Kevin continued to say, “Brian and I have worked together in the professional ranks as referees for years and our administrative duties have often paralleled. I have been fortunate to have worked with Brian at various events and functions as an instructor and have seen the fantastic work he has done. I am so excited to have Brian on board with us as we step in to this expanded Partnership.”

The UPSL is the Premier Semi-Professional League in the United States and through this expanded partnership we will be able to reach more referees, create positive and meaningful partnerships with local assignors and ensure there is additional oversight and support for the referees. The impact of this will be immediate and create a new way for referees and assignors to interact across North Carolina throughout the year.
