CRO Match Day Information

NCYSA Matches

Thank you for being a part of the Referee community in the Greater Charlotte area and in North Carolina. We are excited to work with you at CRO! Below you will find all the information pertaining to matches assigned for Charlotte Independence SC, Charlotte Eagles, Porter Ridge Athletic Association, Union Youth FC, NCYSA and Youth Academy Matches. A lot of this information may be familiar to you, however, there is always updated information each season. We are hoping that this information will now all be in one spot for you to find easily when you need it for each weekend. 

Arrival: 30 minutes before kick off - If for any reason you will not be there 30 minutes before please contact your crew. 

Arrival Attire:Black Shirt (USSF, NCSRA or CRO Preferred), Track pants or Referee Shorts with socks pulled up.

Referee Procedure Highlights

  • Player Check-in -

    • Classic - The Referee must check player passes and staff passes before the game. Check to be sure each player is on the roster and the number of the player is correct. NO PASS = NO PLAY

    • Youth Academy -

  • Match Reports -Arbiter Match Report and Submit online Here - Match Report must be done end of day on your match Day 

  • Red Cards - If you give a Red Card in addition to the below information please send an email to CRO@CROReferees.com or text Colin Ashley / 919-259-6954 - with your name, the game and what your Red Card was for. We are happy to help you write up the report before you send it to NCSRA. 

    • NCYSA Red Card Report - Submit Here - must be submitted by within 24 hours of match

  • Referee Abuse, assault or any other major issues - Please call us and let us know what happened. We are here to support you and want to help with any issues that come up. If we don’t pick up the phone email us - CRO@CROReferees.com. We can help you fill out the supplemental report before you submit it.

Referee Education & Considerations

  • Time Periods and Ball Size - Referee must ensure all balls are inflated to 10 - 12 PSI

    • U17 - U19 - 45 minute Half  / Size 5 Ball 

    • U15 - U16 - 40 Minute Half / Size 5 Ball

    • U13 - U14 - 35 Minute Half / Size 5 Ball

    • U11 - U12 - 30 Minute Half / Size 4 Ball

  • Substitutions 

    • Own Team Throw In (both teams may sub if the team in possession chooses to substitute)

    • Goal Kick, Kick Off and Halftime, When a player is injured (Either Team)

    • After being given a Yellow Card

  • HEAD INJURIES - Stop game imminently if you suspect a player has a head injury. Player must leave the field and may be substituted. Before they re-enter the game you must confirm with a coach if they are okay to come back. THIS IS NOT A DECISION FOR THE REFEREE.
